Lovely Valley Truffles

Lovely Valley Truffle Farm, located in the Fleurieu Peninsula region, is a delightful destination just an hour's drive from Adelaide, South Australia. Owners Greg and Jayne started this venture as a hobby in 2012, hand-planting their first 50 inoculated trees, including English Oak, French Oak, and Hazelnut varieties. For the initial two years, these trees were lovingly hand-watered with rainwater.Seven years later, the farm's journey took an exciting turn when Adelaide Hills Truffle Dogs, now known as Detection Dogs SA, conducted their first truffle hunt. To everyone's delight, the trained dogs successfully unearthed the coveted black truffles, often referred to as "black gold." Today, these truffles are sold to local restaurants throughout the Fleurieu Peninsula.You can now join Lovely Valley Truffle Tours for an unforgettable truffle hunting adventure. Meet the owners, Greg and Jayne, and learn about their inspiring journey into truffle farming. You'll also meet Warren and Dean from Detection Dogs SA and their incredible dogs, Ruby and Gus. Spend an hour in the paddock hunting and harvesting rare black truffles, followed by a champagne and light brunch where you can savor the exquisite flavors of the freshly harvested truffles. You'll also learn about the cleaning and grading process, with truffles available for purchase at market prices.
